Pender Island Playgroup is an informal place where parents, caregivers, children and babies meet together in a relaxed environment. We are located next to the Nu-to-Yu and library. The playgroup is run by parents.
Activities at playgroup may include:
- music and singing
- imaginative play
- outdoor and free play
- arts and craft activities
- fieldtrips on and off-island
No child is too young for playgroup. All children, including babies, love new experiences and benefit from developing sensory, social and communication skills through activities at playgroup.
Children like playgroup because they can:
- participate in new experiences
- develop and increase their social skills
- learn about sharing, co-operation and taking turns
- interact with other adults and children in a safe environment
- enjoy learning more about their world
Adults like playgroup because they can:
- meet other local families and develop new friendships
- relax and talk in a friendly environment
- share experiences and ideas
- play with children and nurture a spirit of co-operation
If you have children aged five and under, here's an opportunity to get out of the house and socialize with other parents while your children play. This is a parent-run co-op. Our intent is to keep the membership fees as low as possible.
